About

Built in Northern Ireland, for UK households

PocketPilot is made by Pocket Pilot LTD, a company registered in Northern Ireland. It is a small operation building one product properly rather than a large one building several quickly.

Why it exists

Because “Groceries: £412” is not information

Every budgeting app in the UK can tell you how much went to a supermarket last month. None of them can tell you what you bought, whether it cost more than it used to, or whether the same items were cheaper at the shop two streets over.

That detail is not missing. It is printed on the receipt in your coat pocket, and it gets thrown away because nothing useful reads it. PocketPilot exists to pick that up: read the receipt, tie it to the payment it belongs to, and keep the history so it becomes worth something over time.

The result is a budget you can steer forwards and a record you can actually check backwards, built from your own shopping rather than from a database somebody is selling.

How we work

Three commitments we would rather be judged on

We say what is not built

The features page lists the gaps alongside the features, and the security page lists what is unfinished. A roadmap described in the present tense is a lie with good intentions.

We do not guess at your numbers

When a receipt cannot be read confidently, PocketPilot says so and leaves the value editable. Filling a gap with a plausible figure would make the product feel better and be worth less.

We only get paid by you

No data sales, no advertising, no affiliate or referral relationships. There is one revenue line and it is subscriptions, which is the only arrangement where our interests and yours point the same way.

Where things stand

Honestly, early

PocketPilot has not launched. There is no user base to point at and no revenue to quote. If you are reading this, you are early enough to change what gets built.

Now: closed beta

Invitations in small groups, UK households first, free while it runs. The whole point is finding what breaks and what is missing.

Next: public launch

A free tier and a paid tier, priced once supplier costs are settled. Import-based, with no bank credentials involved.

Later: bank sync

Live sync through an approved UK Open Banking provider, if and when that is in place. It is a plan, not a promise with a date on it.

Want to shape it?

The beta runs in small groups so that what you report actually changes what gets built next.
